About Us
Drone Girlz is building a network of women mentors in the drone industry. Many girls learning how to fly drones don’t feel like they have women mentors to guide them when they’re feeling lost. We’re solving that problem with our mentorship networks.
Our Mission
To inspire and empower young girls to pursue their passions in drone technology and aviation, providing them with the resources, education, and opportunities they need to excel in these fields.
Our Values
- Empowerment: We believe in empowering young girls by providing them with the tools, knowledge, and confidence to break barriers and achieve their dreams in drone technology and aviation.
- Inclusivity: We are committed to fostering an inclusive environment where girls of all backgrounds feel welcome and supported.
- Innovation: We encourage creativity and innovation, helping young girls develop new skills and think outside the box.
- Mentorship: We value the power of mentorship and guidance, connecting young girls with experienced professionals in the field.
- Community: We believe in building a strong community of supporters, mentors, and peers who inspire and uplift each other.
Our Goals
- Access to Resources: Ensure that all young girls have access to the necessary resources, including drones, training programs, and educational materials.
- Scholarship and Sponsorship Programs: Establish scholarship and sponsorship programs to assist girls in obtaining their FAA Drone Pilot 107 certification and other necessary qualifications.
- Workshops and Training: Organize workshops, training sessions, and events to provide hands-on experience and practical knowledge in drone technology.
- Mentorship Network: Create a robust mentorship network to connect young girls with industry professionals, providing guidance, support, and career advice.
- Advocacy and Awareness: Advocate for gender equality in STEM fields, raising awareness about the importance of diversity and inclusion in drone technology and aviation.
It’s no secret that girls aren’t always encouraged to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). As a result, many miss out on exciting STEM opportunities, such as becoming a drone pilot.
27% of STEM workers are women 73% of STEM workers are men
4% of drone owners are women 96% of drone owners are men
We’re here to change that by introducing you to a high-demand STEM career, teaching you how to fly drones. In March 2003, we, as ABJS Corporation, launched a drone mapping initiative called Drone Girlz.
Drone Girlz is about more than just teaching drone mapping—it’s about empowerment. By mastering drone operation and geographical mapping, you gain a competitive edge in the job market.
We teach girls (ages 16 to 21) how to become drone pilots while also offering three key support networks:
1. Peer Mentorship
We foster a peer community of like-minded, ambitious students passionate about drones. Together, students support each other, learn collaboratively, and celebrate both wins and setbacks.
2. Immersive Mentorship
We connect students with inspiring women in STEM. Imagine having women mentors who have walked the path before you and are eager to share their knowledge and experience. These mentors guide students toward the right opportunities.
3. Career Guidance
We help students network with potential employers and secure internships that leave them excited to wake up every morning.
